Fun Shopping Weekend

Allow me to preface this with I have not been "new" shopping for myself in a long time, most all of my shopping is done at thrift stores (which I love)

but this weekend was a "new" shopping and FUN weekend...

My hubby spoiled me...

This adorable Fossil summer purse was on clearance at Marshall's

My PRECIOUS "Phyllis" finally quit (well at least the rug attachment part)

I'm sure I will eventually get her restored but for now, I needed a vacuum)

I bought this Electrolux at Costco, I'm thinking her name shall be "Eloise" ?

Any suggestions?

We have dear friends who are on a journey to adopt from China...

My friend chose "Hope" as her word for 2012

I L.O.V.E. pinterest and have a whole board for Valentines

When I saw these jars I knew I had to make them

(this years teacher gifts)

...and then wrapping pipe cleaner with fabric

to make hearts oh my...

Broken Arm Shirt Tutorial

How's that for a title??

Our cute little neighbor broke her arm requiring surgery...

No fun

I wanted to be able to DO something...

I couldn't imagine how they were going to keep her warm,

it's not like tank tops will do in Dec/Jan

I searched online for shirts for people with broken arms (no such thing)

I decided I would try and make one...

I purchased a couple sweatshirts and some velcro.

Cut the sleeve off right above the elbow.

Cut the entire side of the shirt open on the seam.

Pinned and sewed a finish seam for the sleeve.

Added and sewed velcro to each side of the sleeves and side.

Tada...

A finished shirt that can easily be put on and "velcroed" around the cast.
