Napkin "chipboard" Garland Tutorial

I have been LOVING all the cute paper napkins out there, have you seen the NEST ones at Target?? It seems like such a waste to wipe your messy hands on them and throw them away... Then it occurred to me to make them into chipboard decor... For banners!

Find a cute napkin.

Get a cereal box

Open cereal box and paint Modge Podge on an area the size of your image lay your napkin on the Modge Podge and smooth out, your napkin will crinkle a bit, it adds to the character. Then coat the top of the napkin with Modge Podge. Once dry cut around the image.

Super cute and CHEAP chipboard shapes! I also coated the back of the cereal box with Modge Podge and glued a piece of postal paper, you could also use wrapping paper, just so if I use it in a banner or garland you won't see the cereal box print!
I just entered this in the Plaid contest! Now let's hope I win ;)

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you about my bird in a cage stamp. I bought it at Michael's. I used one of their 40% coupons because it was a bit pricey. Hope you find one too. : )

  11. now I know what to do with the napkins which are so darn cute - but fail miserably in their role as 'absorbent' napkins :-D
