We have a lot of graduations coming our way, Emilie's is one of them... I had an idea late one night, "what if I make her an interchangeable banner"?... Meaning I would make one of my rag tag banner garlands... that could be used over and over again... I stayed with a neutral color "green" and sewed vinyl pockets on the front... {Can I just say that wasn't easy} but worth the effort... I used my cricut and cut out Congrats for her graduation!
Here it is empty, this banner can be used for birthdays, all kinds of parties, your childs name, everyday words like family, love, dream.... ANYTHING,

the pockets could be filled with pictures, chipboard letters, small items, etc!!
Okay, that is so very clever! What a great idea! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove the garland! Congrats to Emilie also!
ReplyDeleteLove that idea!!
ReplyDeleteTry this trick when sewing your vinyl on. Place tissue paper over the vinyl and then sew. Your presser foot won't stick to the vinyl, the tissue will perforate and then should pull away easily.
Hope that helps :)

That turned out so cute!! Worth the effort, huh??

I'm new to your blog - "hi!"
ReplyDeleteI love the garland! :)
what did you use to trace the letters? I am attempting to make one for my sons birthday and got to the letters and was puzzled-also what is that a white rope to hang it with?
