4th of July Decor

I have been getting a few 4th of July items out, here is what I have done so far... This flag was inspired over 7 years ago by a Pottery Barn catalog, and do you know they still use the giant flag display {it's in my current catalog} Anyway, I made mine using yard sticks! Normally it lives in my boys room, but I moved it to the green wall in the family room above the couch. I actually like it against the green {wasn't sure I would}!

I also came across this tutorial and had to make a bunting of my own!

Here is the mantel {so far} Notice my new lamp, lights on...

...lights off
Do you notice my garland invention?? I bought president flash cards from the dollar section at Target, strung up two rows of twine, clipped them on with mini clothespins!
LOVE it!

I was hoping someone would post some 4th of July soon. I hope to get started with some today. Yours looks great, and still love the Flag. Wonder where I can find those wooden yarsticks cheap? Any ideas? Jackie

The mantle looks great Jen. I am doing a little bit of 4th of July decor for the first time ever...I'll post it soon. I like the idea of tying in presidential history with the decor!

Hi Jen,
Funny you should ask, because I asked a fellow blogger where she got hers last year. Sarah, from Sadie Olive, said she got hers from Border's Bookstore. However, I checked all of them in my neck of the woods...Nada. So I ended up finding mine a an unconventional Arts Supply Store near the University here. Good luck on your hunt. Let me know what you find. : )
