Better Bricks

I have always loved brick but I like old or used brick, not really a fan of solid clay looking brick...
After almost 10 years living here, I FINALLY added Ralph Lauren sun fade glaze to my bricks...

Oh, and did you notice I painted the mantel?

  1. Very nice! I have a fireplace with solid red bricks and I have been thinking about painting them, maybe I'll try a glaze first. Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. It looks great. We painted over our brick. I didn't like the contrast of the dark brick against our light walls.

  6. Yes I noticed you painted it in the first pic...you talked about doing it last year but was iffy....love the new look and all the goodies on your mantle...have not really seen it in the summer time...I love looking at mantles especially since I don't have one but want one.
