Wooden Clothespin Nativity Tutorial {revisit}

You will need

  • clothespin dolls

  • clothespin stands

  • head beads

  • wooden baby

  • flesh colored pipe cleaners

  • scrap fabric and twine

  • paints

  • glue gun

    Cut a 4 inch piece of pipe cleaner and hot glue it to the back of the clothespin doll.

    Cut 2 scraps {one for Joseph one for Mary} of fabric 6 1/2 inches by about 1 1/2 inches wide.

    Fold in half and cut a small half circle.

    In the meantime you have painted your head beads in a flesh color. I also added burlap to Joseph and a twine "belt" some ticking to Mary and a string "belt"

    Next with brown paint I added hair and a beard to Joseph.

    Brown dot eyes and a smile, baby Jesus is wrapped in a square piece of muslin. I used more neutral fabric and hot glued on the heads. Found a stick in the yard for Joseph.
