Jingle Our Elf

So, this is the first year we had an elf visit... 

His name is Jingle...

It has been fun to see his

A friend asked if I could make her daughter and son Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head costumes...
I said I'd try... They turned out pretty cute,
 and I can't wait to see her kids in them...
I decided her daughter need a candy bag with extra parts, it's just felt pieces cut
and vinyl sewn over the top....

Wanted to take flowers to my neighbor, my hydrangeas were looking pretty sad, 

so I painted a mini Katie Daisy inspired canvas...

she knows me well...

My hubby bought me an iphone and the first app I downloaded was instagram!

New BATHROOM

Well, I haven't blogged in about a month for good reason

We have been remodeling one of our bathrooms...

One of the original rooms of our house since we moved in 11 years ago...

It was WAY past time...

I love this rug, it's from World Market

New wall color Silver Dollar from Lowes

We went with a gray, white, and yellow color theme...

This shower was disgusting no amount of

bleach or scrubbing would help that shower...

Along with these lovely tiles there was also a penguin and octopus...

Beyond random....

Now I just need to find something long, yellow, and vertical to hang behind the toilet...

Any suggestions....

Chalk Paint on my Bathroom Cabinets

About 8 years ago, I textured, painted, and tea stained my bathroom cabinets.

It's been chipping for the past few years, driving me nuts...

So I decided to tackle this "small" project...

I hand scraped (for 2 days) the texture off, and then sanded

(what a MESS)

During

I used this chalk paint recipe I had pinned...

Using Basil paint I already had (my family room is this color) and Plaster of Paris.

Let's just say chalk paint is super rough feeling. I used 320 grit sand paper to smooth it some and buffed Minwax Paste Finishing Wax on to seal it...

I am very pleased with the end result and would definitely use the chalk paint technique again.
