Summer Fun Banner, Hot Dogs, Flip Flops, and Flowers Oh My...

Hi, I'm Becky from Liberate Creativity. I'm super excited to be visiting Lipstick and Laundry today! Jen and I had this idea of swapping Summer Banner ideas, so here it goes. Be sure to check out both our tutorials to get some super fun creative inspiration!

My banner was inspired by my fav summer items....Hot Dogs, Flowers and Flip Flops!

Supplies Needed:
Felt (various colors)
Embrodiery Floss (Variety colors)
Ribbon (Approximately 1 full roll)
Sewing machine (optional)
Needle

Step1:
I choose a few "clip-art" pictures from Microsoft word of my fav summer items (see below for example, but use your own to exemplify your own summer banner creativity!)

Step 2:

Cut felt pieces from your chosen clip art pieces.

Step 3:

Sew (by hand) embroidery floss through each chosen piece of your summer garland. I used a straight stich; however you could also use the sewing maching to make it a much quicker process.

Step 4:

Pin each completed felt piece to a strip of selected ribbon and sew on.

Hang the garland and enjoy! Feel summery and wonderful all season long. Ooh, maybe I'll pull mine out in the dreary winter to remind me that Summer does actually exist! Thanks again Jen for letting me visit!

Hoop Art Swap...

It was one of my Nana's favorite sayings...

She makes AMAZING items check out her etsy shop...

She was even sweet and enclosed a BEAUTIFUL print from her esty....

I sent her this hoop using fabric from my great grandma's stash...

I wrapped a stick with pink crochet thread, added a nest and eggs,

paper bird, and mini rick rack...

Thank You Lori

My friend Lori signed up after me on Em's Thanksgiving swap... Therefore she sent me my goodies... I love Lori's packages, and I am sorry I tore through it too fast and didn't get a photo, she had crinkle shredded craft paper and silk leaves as box filler... Inside the box were 3 glitter ornies for my fall tree.

Fall take out container filled with candy for the boys.
Pumpkin cheesecake mix, and fall cookie cutters.

Lori also made me this AMAZING necklace!
I am loving the antique copper chain, gold leaf, and what I am calling my acorn bead!

Fall Fun

Tomorrow is the first day of FALL... My favorite time of year... Just thought I'd share a few fun photos...
On Friday I got part two of my Elise Fall Swap,
she made me this Thankful sign, out of an old kitchen cabinet, the reverse side says
FAMILY, I hung it with a plate hanger.

Note, I found this pumpkin dessert plate here.
Last year she made me this INCREDIBLE fall arrangement, it stays out year round, this year she sent me the FALL blocks and I displayed them on my typewriter.

Look at this ACORN tassel... It is HUGE and I L.O.V.E. it
She sent along shutter slat ornies with FALL words on them, along with a bag of acorn bells I strung on twine, my FALL tree is super happy and so am I.
Remember my cloche?? I found glitter skulls today, stacked them on my black hob nail cake plate and covered with the cloche...
