Baby Rufio

Meet Rufio, this was my sons computerized son. Rufio turned on at 3 pm on Friday and was on a newborns schedule. Rufio weighed 8lbs and had an extremely sensitive head/neck, my son was so fearful of getting points docked for head support. Here's how it works, once the baby turns on it will ONLY respond to my son, who is wearing a special bracelet like the hospital bands with that plastic snap {the ones that only come off by cutting} so I could NOT help him. The baby cries {boy does it cry}, it needs to eat every 2 hours, be burped, and CHANGED.... yes, changed. He came with diapers that had micro chips in them so it would record the changings.
The bottle also contained a micro chip, and do you know that baby would swallow, talk about weird the entire time it eats which lasts about 15 minutes a feeding, it is making swallowing sounds, and if you ask me it sounded like it was going to choke at any minute. Weird. After feedings he had to burp and if he didn't burp he would scream!
Rufio woke up about every two hours during the night, and sometimes was inconsolable. When Rufio wasn't cooing, burping, or crying, he made breathing sounds. {The sounds were actual newborn recordings, it sounded way too real}....
Welcome to parenthood! Not only did my son have to care for Rufio from Friday 3:00pm to Monday at 7:00am. He had to log everything the baby did. Then turn in the baby and "baby book" on Monday morning for the teacher to plug in and see the reading... I am proud to say, my son was a good "daddy" he got 199 out of 200 points, apparently he missed one diaper change at 4:36am on Sunday.

I will miss {kind of} my grandson, Rufio. He was generally a pretty good baby.

I too enjoyed my time spent with my great-grandson Rufio. As the great-grandmother I was not real impressed with the name my grandson chose (such is life). Being the great-grandma I couldn't remember his name, kept calling him Rufus. I was able to watch Chris in action as a dad- he'll be great. He has had GREAT roll models to watch in his parents. Rufio never cried while I held him, he seemed so content and cooing in my arms. Congratulations Chris on a job well done. I'm very proud of you! Just keep it pretend for the next 10 years or so. Love you, Nama

So realistic! Especially the feedings every 2 hours. Too bad the baby couldn't be consoled by anyone else. A TRUE tribute to single parents out there! Sometimes the "main" parent NEEDS a break and when you don't have one...ugh! congratulations on the A+! (You've obviously done a good job raising a good daddy!)

That's awesome! I know some adults that should've gone through that, before getting pregnant! What a great opportunity to have a little taste of what a newborn is like!

Good birth control, eh?? I remember in high school we made babies from bags of flour. Not super realistic. That Rufio is something else...
