Like mother like daughter... This is a pincushion I made for my mom for Mother's Day, and since she reads my blog, she will now see what she is getting!!
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
You see my Nana LOVED Poppies and since her passing my mom collects all things Poppy... Luckily for us they are California's state flower so this time of year they are everywhere!
I also drew out a Poppy petal for my pattern.
I made my side strip 3/4" taller than the container.
Then trace the circle and cut 2 out, one for the top one for the bottom.
Sew the side up with a whip stitch

L.O.V.E. poppies, Jen!
What a sweet little gift! :)
I was watching the Today show this morning and a story came on about a new thriller movie with Beyonce.
I will never watch the movie but for some reason, I watching the movie clip and saw the cutest bird art work on the wall of that movie house.
There were 6 canvases, maybe 8x10, painted a beige color with the edges distressed, and each one has a different bird silhouette in black on it.
They are too cute and would be very easy to make your own. ANd I do plan on making some or something similar anyway.
I thought of you when I saw them.
I think this link will take you to the clip

and the bird pictures are at the very beginning.
the movie is "Obsessed"
Pretty darn cute!
