Security Envelope Garland Tutorial

This weekend I decide to shred ALL of our bills, mind you I had stuff from 2005, when going through the TUBS of bills, I started to notice the security lining of the envelopes, the patterns intrigued me... I started a pile... What I can do with these??
I went to Joann's they were having 40% off punches, I wanted a scallop circle, {sold out} I got the oval instead and a mini hole punch.
Started punching out envelopes.

Threaded them on bakers twine and placed a bead in between.
I am pleased with the way it turned out. The patterns make me smile!
* FYI, don't shred 2009 bills your husband needs for his taxes*

Oh girl, you crack me up - "oops" your own little 'Lucy' moment .. chuckle, chuckle.

So were you able to 'splain it' to Ricky, I mean Spike?

For the record, it is best to save all anyways tax related materials, for at least the last seven years. And, it is best to leave fully followable paper trails in all transactions.

My father-in-law got audited once - by the IRS - due to his "unreasonably high medical deductions". In the end, he was able to prove every single thing that had appeared on his tax's for the last seven years, as well as utility bills, and ... but the in between time was a nightmere.

Brian's unofficial "sister" got audited a couple of years ago. Actually, ALL of their accounts, pay checks, EVERYTHING got froze while they fought the IRS. They were alloted less than 20% of his take home pay each week, according to IRS regulations - for eight months time!!! Again they were able to prove they were right. But it was a NASTY battle!!! And in the end it had cost them loads of money, which the IRS does not have to leagelly reimburse :-(

Not trying to scare you, just sharing what we've learned.

LOL!
I shredded some 09 stuff... YIKES!
Several calls to vendors later and one busy little fax machine... whew! Disaster overted.
Love your reuse of these envelopes.

I've always thought security envelopes were nice on the inside, but never thought of a way to use them. Good for you, the garland is very pretty and a great idea.

I love this idea.. I have a question, do you have any ideas of decorations using playing cards? My daughter is having an Alice in Wonderland birthday tea party and I want to use cards to decorate. I need ideas!!!
