Vintage Door Headboard

Several months ago, we sold our expensive, dark mahogany bedroom set, It was beautiful but not really "my" style... Hubby went picked it out and bought all without me... After staying at a bed and breakfast where they had mix match furniture very shabby, I told my hubby this is what I want... He agreed he liked it too, and that we could've done our bedroom for pennies compared to what he spent... Long story short his parents loved our bedroom set and bought it from us... Yipee... we started shopping for dressers, and I knew EXACTLY what my headboard would be... My cousin Cathy gave me these old doors from her old house, a MUST headboard...
However with my creamy walls the doors were "lost"...

a pea soup green PERFECT... Now I just need to find a floral shabby duvet cover...

I like the pea soup green! It seems to be a pretty popular color around blogland.

Oh the green is so pretty and the doors! WOW, they are just amazing. I've been looking for an old door to make a table but never thought of a headboard. Great idea! Can't wait to see more ;)

Hi Jen :-}

first off, "good thing I don't shoot first ...." I literally laughed right out loud!!! Wonderful!!! still chuckling!

Secondly, I did think that how you used those security envelopes was VERY creative!!! Now you've got me thinking of .... hum mmm I'm sure Brian will thank you later ;-p

Thirdly, what size is your bed? I have a green dovet cover - rose patterened on one side, striped on the other. It had been given to us. Is still in wonderful shape. I am so-o ready for something else ....

It's funny that you posted about your bedroom today. I was going to send you an email about the comment you left me, and ask what you had ended up deciding on the dressers. What did you decide?

Glad your getting to do your room, your way!

Hope you have a good day today my friend! May laughter be your constant companion!

It looks great Jen! I'm really happy you got the doors and you did a great job with them. Justin had a lot of fun taking them down believe it or not. What can I say--he's a weird kid! LOL That house is all gone...nothing but a dirt lot now, so I'm happy a piece of it is still around!

Today I randomly thought of using old doors as the headboard in my new apartment. When I googled it, I found that my idea wasn't quite so novel. :( However, I was thinking about having 2 doors vertical, but every other website uses 1 door hung horizontally. So I was glad to find that someone did the vertical doors idea, and it looks great!
