Back Yard Party

Our second born, Johnny promoted from the 8th grade {high school here we come}, so we had a party! I wanted sort of a vintage whimsical ol' time feel... We made lemonade, used spray painted plate holders, "vintage" bread box, floral frogs to hold food cards...
I made red and white scrappy banners...

Made some funny face photo props...

On the menu:
Chicken Salad Sandwiches
Hot dogs
Pasta Salad
Antipasto Salad
Snickers Salad
Fruit Salad
Delish....

Snickers Salad Recipe
1 large tub of Cool Whip (I use whipping cream and make my own whip cream, I don’t care for cool whip)
1 large package of vanilla instant pudding
1 cup of milk (for the pudding)
1 bag of fun size Snickers or 3 super size Snickers, cut up into small chunks
6 medium size Granny Smith apples or other tart apple, cut up into small chunks
In a large bowl, mix up the pudding and then combine it with the Cool Whip. Add the Snickers and then the apples. Note: Cut the apples after you have mixed the other ingredients so that they aren't brown when you add them.

great party with lots of great food. Love the beverage holder...I saw one at Belks on sale and have been wondering if they leak...I want one and was scared to get one for fear of this...has yours ever done it?

Love those faces!

I am so like you on the cool whip...it is so nasty to me and I always make my own...so simple to do.

Congrats to your son on moving on up...I bet he is excited to go to high school. I can remember when my son couldn't wait and now he is a upcoming senior and so ready to graduate...but I tell him he will eat those words after he is out for awhile.
