The Beach or shall I say Beast??

Lest you think all of my posts are peachy... This one has a few wipe outs, and maybe TMI??
Read at your own risk...
We left Sunday morning for a fun filled day at the beach, it was awesome 3 packed vehicles filled with family, our tribe plus a couple cousins and a girlfriend, My sis her hubby and girls, our parents plus doggy, Lucy...
Here we are at the first beach Half Moon Bay, it was beautiful and 59 degrees... We park and all tumble out, we see a well worn path {steep rocky path} The teens scaled it with ease, I following hubby, where he wipes out and slides down the rocks, ouch, me not wanting to do the same, think I will just sit down at that really steep part and scoot down, my 9 year old niece behind me... I gracefully "try" and sit only to land and slide ouch, while trying to compose myself my niece looses her balance and her backpack and beach toys landslide me on my graceful downhill climb. Laughing the whole time, we get to the bottom and see STAIRS... about 3 feet away, um yeah... Nice...
Once we set up camp for the day the children all run down to the water followed by Nama and Lucy, only to have a wave catch my mother aka Nama and Lucy off guard and into the ocean... For the record my mom wasn't planning on swimming in the ocean hence only the clothes on her back PLUS the jacket she was currently wearing for warmth... Wipe Out... She was a great sport and the kids had a great time, we all did...
See picture proof

Big brothers, and cousins
see Lucy?
We then left for lunch and Pacifica Beach, got there set up camp all the big kids and Spike decide to take an afternoon siesta... I spent a few hours with my sister, brother in law, and kids letting the wave lap up on our feet... Perfect afternoon right??
When all of the sudden a HUGE Tsunami size wave comes out of no where all the way to the parking lot... WIPE OUT, number two... People on the beach were frantically trying to grab dogs, children, and belongings, it looked like a scene from a movie, NO ONE on the beach even saw it coming... Johnny was sound to sleep and didn't know what was going on, just that he was being carried out to sea... My purse {containing all of our cell phones} our towels sweatshirts, sand pails and can you imagine how many pairs of shoes... EVERYTHING was floating we were all grabbing and throwing things to to rocks... Thankfully no one was hurt or worse, my new cell phone how ever is no more...
This is the TMI part... My brother in law {he's the super tall one behind my sister in the above pic} spent Monday at urgent care, he has 2nd degree burns on his head and forehead, Spike has burns and blisters on the backs of his legs, and I with a UTI... TMI?? Maybe, apparently my kidneys don't travel well, last July I ended up with kidney stones after a couple hour drive, in February when we went to Reno and spent many hours in the car I ended up with a UTI.... And as of Monday morning I am sick with yep a UTI...

Goodness. that sounds like a funish ordeal!! praise the Lord no one was hurt!! How did they get 2nd degree burns?? Very few things are worse than a UTI. I would be angry too!!! I hope that you heal quickly and that you, your hubby, and your brother in law will be back to normal soon!!

Jenny that sounds like a terrible day!! I'm glad you guys got out alive.

I used to get frequent UTI's and I started taking probiotics every morning several years ago and haven't had one since.

you forgot to mention that my hubby lost his pinky toenail and lucky he wasn't shark bait after a bucket that washed out to sea nailed him in the leg and gashed it open..... regardless of the mishaps we had a blast and love spending time with family... I would do it again in a heart beat (with sunblock and waterproof bags)- Becky Jen's sister

Hi Jen :-)
you do realize don't you, that your story is the material movies are made from?!!

I hope that you are feeling ever so much better extremely soon!!!!

Your mom didn't catch a chill while the others got severe sun burns did she?

How is your BIL doing?

Jen, your pictures reminded me just how pretty you are!!! Your story reminds me of what good character you are!! Glad I can call you friend!

Sounds like a Griswald family vacation ;) I am glad you got to the beach and HEY if nothing happened, it would be a boring story right? You made memories ;)
