In fact the above black and white photo is ART to me!!
Meet "Phyllis", she is the Filter Queen Princess vacuum I bought 13 years ago, she is rebuilt and very old, but still to this day my FAVORITE, yes, I play favoritism with my vacuums. Last year she had to go the the repair shop for a new cord, it was the longest 3 days of my life.
Next is "Reba" she is my Rainbow, my parents bought her for me a few years ago, she was only with us a short time and her electrical system failed... MAJOR "surgery" expensive "surgery" but she is good as new and I do adore her!
Then there is "Dufus" the dust buster... Don't really care for this one, but comes in handy for quick spills...
My light weight sweep vac, she doesn't have a name, but before I lived in this house she was used way more, still can't part with her though....
Remember the great great grandmother to "Phyllis"... I call her "Philomena" {thanks Em}
After she came to live with us, weeks past and the lady we bought her from called, she had found her parts!! I was so excited, she dropped them off to my hubby's work and he surprised me with them...
Still in the original box...
There was a receipt in the box too... From 1960!
While antiquing a while back my parents spent big bucks on the little cutie, {it is SUPER old} and guess what?? It's a tape measure... {LOVE}
Vacuuming makes me happy, it makes me smile... There is something about the smell of the warm dust, and be still my heart when I see BEAUTIFUL vacuum lines in the carpet. In fact I have been known to get upset with my children for wrestling on my freshly vacuumed floors {cuz they made my lines go away}

If you have a vacuum who needs a good home let me know.... :)

Cute post and you have a cute blog. Ironic I posted a vac photo on my blog this week. Go and peak at my blog to see who now like this at my house. My parents also had that Hoover round vac too and it was a gold color. Not sure what happened to it? I have an electric broom that is almost 40 years old now and works better then what is on the market today.
You my dear have had some lovely vacumes! I like the old one's the best. The little tape measure is so adorable...what a great find!
my question has officially been answered. you DO love it, don't you? whacky. ;)
You're officially a crack head in my book!! I don't think my vaccum sees the light of day for 3 days or so, until I cannot stand it anymore. I wish I had some of your freakishness in me, cause clearly I need it!!
How about "Sissy" for the sweep vac thing??
Elise
Jen- There is nothing like a good vacuum! So satisfying! I have not named mine yet, but I think she has earned it! Genevieve? Lori
Thanks for the prayers, Sweetie.:)
I love the old vacuums. We do not have any rugs, only hardwoods and linoleum so no vacuums here.
Ruth
Too funny! I like to vacuum too but maybe not as much as you do! Where do find room to store them all?!!!
Amy
Wow, you weren't kidding, you really do love vacumes :)! I can't say I love to vacume, but for some messed up reason I have to do it everyday, or my day just doesn't feel complete. I wish the vacumes they made today were as good as the old ones!
Awe Philomena just had a birthday! 5/14 she is now 49 years old!
Hi Jen, I came across your blog (very cute), and saw that you are a vacuum cleaner fanatic. I work for Health-Mor, the manufacturer of FilterQueen vacuums and was so excited to see that you have - and love - some old FilterQueens. As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to send you some free filter cones. If you would send me your shipping address, I will get them in the mail this week. Thanks! jlemieux@filterqueen.com
