So since I can't seem to make up my mind on this although the thought of at least building up the mantel is appealing to me, I decided to at least decorate it with whites, I love how the white looks against the new green color... Any tips or suggestions???
{Sorry the pic is a little fuzzy I turned off the flash, because it was reflecting off the wall}

I love the new mantel treasures...It looks so fresh...
on the left, I would hang the picture up about 6" from the mantle then below it place a stack of books with white and soft blue, sage green or cream covers (goodwill or salvation army remove the jackets) then on top of the books place a birdnest and your white bird.
Add another glass jar to the left of the other jar, making sure this one is much bigger in size.
Move the clock to the right on top of another stack of books or a wooden box. (place clock to left of your tall white birdhouse) and leave the middle spot on your mantle open for a spot to "rest" your eyes.
Tuck in some real or faux varigated ivy into your wall planter and nestle in your birdnest among the ivy.
If you DO decide to do any of the above, I'd love to see it and then tweak it again for you.
That is very cute! Great job. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
I love all your treasures up there!! How about that white cage I sent you??

I love it, Sweetie! I see a little green birdie that I remember.:) So glad she has a nice place to nest.:) Lori
Simple and oh, so chic!!! I absolutely LOVE the creamy white against the lovely green. The wood-stained mantle really shows up -- in a GOOD way!! Just darling.

You're right, the white against the green background is wonderful!! So homey!! Love it!
Looks great Jenny, you have some really cute stuff! (thanks to all those swaps you do!)
So I know you were thinking about a black mantel. I really like the white. And the white with the green looks good. And you do have a small amount of black currently on there, but I think it needs more - but shawdow(y) type effect . . . like maybe something behind the picture frames, and while I would have to think on how or what, also something behind the bird cage ...
ooohh I like! I would put some height in that corner. Have you thought about some kind of garland or banner to hang?
